Bethesda has announced the size limitations for the console versions of Skyrim: Special Edition. Xbox One will have access to 5 GB of space for Mods, while the PlayStation 4 will have a total of  1 GB. Previously, Bethesda stated that mod support would not be coming to the PlayStation 4 Version of Skyrim due to disagreements on restrictions with Sony.

One the company’s official website, they explain how this version of the game will work in terms of mod creation and downloading. The website states that, “Mods on PlayStation 4 will allow you to modify and create your own content by using our Creation Kit. You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do.” As a result of the compromise that Sony made with Bethesda, custom assets will not be allowed on the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

Along with Mod support on consoles, Skyrim: Special Edition features Remastered art and effects, Volumetric lighting, Dynamic Depth of Field, Screen-space reflections, and New snow, water shaders. The game will also support 4K resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Skyrim: Special Edition is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
