Following the yearly cadence of DICE first-person shooter releases, it appears the release window for  Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been scheduled for fall 2017.

Speaking  during an investor call for publisher Electronic Arts (via Polygon), EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen confirmed that the sequel will be coming “a year from now” when asked about the timing of the next Battlefront game. “We’re working very hard on making sure that is an extremely deep and engaging offering,” he added. With this information we can guess that the window of release for the game will be sometime during fall 2017.

We first heard that the game will launch in 2017 during the EA Play press conference earlier this year and the sequel will feature content from the most recent movie Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. With this new information we can also hope to see some content from the upcoming movie Rouge One: A Star Wars Story as well.

Star Wars Battlefront was released on November 17th 2015 to mixed reviews due to its lack of content on release and its approach to casual gamers. The final bit of DLC, titled Rogue One: Scariff, is set to launch this winter and will introduce playable characters such as Orson Krennic and Jyn Erso.
