A Fire Emblem focused Nintendo Direct presentation will take place on Wednesday.

On Twitter, Nintendo announced that a Direct presentation focusing on the strategy franchise will take place on January 18th. The tweet states: ” A Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct is coming next week on 1/18!” While not much else was mentioned, it is safe to assume that the Direct presentation will feature the new title in the series that was announced for the Switch, as well as the upcoming mobile title.

During last week’s Switch livestream, a new Fire Emblem title was announced for the upcoming system. Entitled Fire Emblem Warriors, the new title is being developer by Hyrule Warriors developer Koei Tecmo. No gameplay footage was shown, and a release date was not given.

Fire Emblem Warriors was not the only big game to be announced during Nintendo’s Switch stream. Nintendo also announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be released on the upcoming system. While no exact release date was given, the game is expected to release sometime in 2017. A trailer was released for the title, and gave players a glimpse of the world that they will journey in, as well as the game’s new protagonist. Tetsuya Takahasi, who directed both the original Xenoblade Chronicles as well as Xenoblade Chronicles X, is on board as executive producer.
