Rebellion is keeping true to its promise of letting different studios develop and publish games that star 2000AD characters. However, Rebellion is starting small with Rogue Trooper Redux, a remaster of the 2006 cult-classic game Rogue Trooper.

The original Rogue Trooper game is an adaptation of the Rogue Trooper comic series. Both the game and the comic star the blue-skinned Genetic Infantryman (GI for short) Rogue. In Rogue Trooper, Rogue fights his way across the poisonous world of Nu Earth in a quest for revenge against the evil Nort regime. While Rogue is a one-man soldier, he is never alone, as his helmet, backpack, and rifle all house biochips that contain the personalities and memories of his fallen comrades. The original Rogue Trooper game combines stealth action with tactical, cover-based third-person shooting. In many respects, Rogue Trooper is the forefather of games like Gears of War.

Rebellion is teaming up with TickTock Games to develop Rogue Trooper Redux. TickTock Games is a UK studio that has helped produce games such as Worms World Party and Lego Minifigures Online.

Rogue Trooper Redux is planned to release for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. While Rebellion has not announced a release date, gamers can sign up on the game’s website for a chance to win a free copy of the game.
