The announcement comes out of the Japan Amusement Expo in Chiba: Square Enix has revealed a new Dissidia game is in the works.
Dissidia Final Fantasy is a fighting spin off of the well known Final Fantasy franchise that pits heroes and villains of each of the numbered main games from the series. It was released on the Play Station Portable in 2009, with its sequel Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy coming out in 2011.
Not much is shown aside from some battle gameplay, a 3 on 3 battle style anda return of familiar faces alongside Y’shtola from Final Fantasy 14 being a newcomer. It is also revealed at the expo, that the game is to be in Japanese arcades first, no word on release on other platforms but more information will be provided on April the 10th.
I played so much of Duodecim and I’m so happy there’s a sequel coming out; I’m hoping for any statement of a console or handheld release! Fans of the previous games, what or who would you like to see included in the game? A bit bummed about the arcade release first? Let us know what you think.
