Since the announcement of WildStar, the critically acclaimed MMO, becoming a free-to-play game, NCSOFT and Carbine Studios have released further information on what else you can expect from the updates.

There will be multiple improvements to the game experience; including a rewards system for players investing in the game. The company hopes to expand and grow the game, with China being next to receive the WildStar package for testing. For you, though, get ready for the biggest update yet, coming this fall.

‘WildStar going free-to-play is so much more than a new business model,’ said Mike Donatelli, product director at Carbine Studios. ‘We’re also introducing a massive game update full of new features and quality of life improvements.’

The reward system will enable players to spend points by purchasing or spending NCoin, enrolling in Signature Plan or redeeming C.R.E.D.D. Those who previously invested in WildStar are going to feel the love of the rewards, as something special will definitely be waiting for you. The more points you earn, the more tiers you go through, and the better your rewards will be.

As well as better content and game systems, players who reach Nexus for the first time will experience an improved tutorial to introduce you to the game, and provide a more interactive start to the gameplay. Whether you’re a beginner to MMO’s in general, or you’ve got prior knowledge of how they work, you can pick the right tutorial for you. Newbies start in the Arkship, where you get the simplified breakdown of the game’s key concepts. If you’re a veteran, you’ll jump straight into combat.

The item and stat system will be completely different, too. It’s going to be in a format which you can customize. They’re taking out brutality and finesse, replacing the two stats with four new ones – assault power, support power, health and armor. Secondary stats are getting an update too, with options to streamline and provide an intuitive game experience.

Dungeons are getting a re-scale by Carbine, with the hopes to maintain the challenge for players, while toning down the harsh completion times. Players will be able to level-up mostly by participating in dungeons.

Two new areas are being added – Alpha Sanctum and the Cryo-Plex PVP arena. Alpha Sanctum brings the story about the Nexus world earlier than before. Cryo-Plex PvP is ice themed, with a multi-level combat zone. Communities can now range up to a further 15 player, and that’s the wrap on the improvements to WildStar in the upcoming update.
