Only hours ago, a teaser site for Omega Force, the team that worked on the Dynasty Warriors titles with Koei Tecmo, popped up and merely says “This is not a ‘Warriors’ “. The text in Japanese says the exact same thing as well. Aside from that, the countdown has already started and some more information regarding this new mystery project will be unveiled in 7 days.
Omega Force as previously mentioned, have been working tirelessly on the Dynasty Warriors series and Warrior spinoff titles including the latest Hyrule Warriors and Dragon Quest Heroes. They have also released Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War and Toukiden which have still retained the classic base control action RPG staple that makes up a ‘Warriors’ game. Their last game that departed from the regular formula was Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll which wasn’t exactly the epitome of perfection.
Thankfully their experiences with that game didn’t leave a sour taste in their mouth and they’re moving on to try and make a better game that doesn’t rely on the ‘Warriors’ influence. I’m excited for what’s to come from Omega Force!
