Gracing the Steam store front, Nexus has revealed their upcoming first person shooter by Neople: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online. The game is set to release in December of 2015 on both Steam and the Nexus launcher. The closed beta for First Assault is incoming and Nexus is offering people the chance to participate. First Assault is based on the original manga series Ghost in the Shell by author Masamune Shirow. Ghost in the Shell is about a world completely dominated in cyber technology: Where prosthesics can replace missing limbs or neurology between people can be connected through cybernetics. The series centers around Major Makoto Kusunagi, a woman who had lost her entire body at a young age and became a cyborg (entity completely fitted with prosthetics). Due to this, her cybernetic mind can be targeted by hackers and this leads to the spiral events surrounding the series.
In the first person shooter title, the player will be a member of Major Kusunagi’s team ‘Section 9’ as they flush out cyber terrorism around cyberpunk Japan. With a slew of various bits of technology and weapons, the is looking fluid and enjoyable. The visual design looks incredible and services the cyberpunk theme quite nicely.
