George R. R. Martin is best known for writing the series A Song of Fire and Ice. The series captures the essence of war time almost perfectly, while including dragons and believable female characters.
Over the past few years there has been a controversy for fans of the books, and of the show. How would the show air without the sixth book, The Winds of Winter, finished? The topic was bounced back and forth between Martin, his editors, and the creators of the show.
It was just announced, on Martin’s personal Journal, that The Game of Thrones season six would air before The Winds of Winter was completed. Although there are a number of reasons for this, the first and foremost being that writing a book is difficult, fans have been surprisingly gracious.

Look, I read Andy Weir’s novel THE MARTIAN before I saw the movie. But I saw the BBC production of JONATHAN STRANGE AND MR NORRELL before I finally got around to reading Susanna Clarke’s novel. In both cases, I loved the book and I loved the adaptation. It does not need to be one or the other. You might prefer one over the other, but you can still enjoy the hell out of both.”
