Microsoft is reporting that online Xbox Live services are currently down for many users.
Xbox Live’s current status is labeled as “limited.” Many services, such as Purchase and Content Usage, Xbox Live Core Services are labeled as functioning properly, while the main problem appears to be affecting the “Social and Gaming” features.
“Hey Xbox members, are you having trouble creating or joining your multiplayer sessions?,” the Xbox Live update page reads. “Are you running into an issue with viewing notifications? We are aware of these issues and are working with our engineers to get this corrected ASAP! Thank you for your patience while we work. We’ll post another update when more information becomes available.”
Sony recently also faced a PSN outage on January 4th, 2016, with the PSN services being down for nearly 10 hours. The company revealed that work is in progress to extend subscriptions for users who were unable to access services during the outage.
