Psyonix and their soccer/car racing mash up Rocket League have really hit the big time with players. The game has a massive following worldwide, and continues to support full cross-platform play. A new update is due to bring 4K resolution to the fast paced action on the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Announced on the official website, Psyonix is due to release the Hot Wheels Update on February 21st. This is set to include improvements for the frame rate and resolution on Sony’s more powerful console.

The developers boast an impressive 60fps for all arenas in single player and two player split-screen modes. Three and four player split screen will also give the improved 4K resolution, but offer the higher frame rate in only some arenas.

The Hot Wheels update is set to bring the world-famous die-cast toys to the Rocket League world. Two of the most iconic cars from the series, the Bone Shaker and the Twin Mill III, are receiving the battle car treatment as part of the premium update, costing a mere $1.99. There will also be free content coming as part of the patch, including exclusive toppers and aerials.

Psyonix is promising plenty more updates where this one came from throughout the rest of the year. Be sure to stay tuned to Gamespresso for any new developments.
