Blizzard has confirmed that there will be no cross-platform play between the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 for their upcoming game Overwatch. PC players will only be able to play with other PC players; while PS4 and Xbox One players will only be able to play with players on those same consoles. The main reason for the lack of cross-platform play, according to Blizzard’s Jeremy Craig, is balance.

“It’s really difficult,” Craig stated on the matter. “From a gameplay standpoint, mouse and keyboard has a little bit of an advantage in terms of being able to spin really quickly. And our game is pretty fast-paced. It just felt like there was a little bit too much of an advantage.”

Overwatch is set to release sometime in the Spring of 2016 for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. A ton of new news and trailers were released this past week at BlizzCon 2015. Unfortunately, for those of you console gamers that want to play a game against your PC friends, you will have to stick to the upcoming fighting game, Street Fighter V.
