With just over a week to go until the monumental release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, some hardcore fans are already queuing up outside cinemas in anticipation for the release.
Yesterday, the New York Times reported that over 100 people are already queuing outside of the famous Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles. At the very front of the queue is Australian Caroline Ritter, who reportedly said “yes, we still have a very long time to wait. No, we’re not crazy” to a passing couple who stopped to snap a quick photo of the queue.
However Ritter and others first formed the queue back on Saturday, December 6, meaning that the few at the front of the queue will have been there for a total of 17 days, by the time Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in North America on December 17.
Why are so many there, when they could just a reserve a ticket online? That’s the question Times asked, to which one member of the queue responded that it was the “chance to be a part of cinematic history.”
