The Pokemon Company has launched a new iOS app called Learn Real English With Pokemon: XY Translation Scope In Japan. This app teaches the player how to write, read, and speak English.

This free app uses simple Pokémon-based sentences and phrases in English, and asks the player to select the correct translation. It also presents quizzes where you have to fill in the blanks in an English sentence or select the correct Pokémon that a sentence is describing .

The app can also read aloud any word or phrase you press, so you can understand the pronunciation better.

To make things even better, if you take a picture of scene in Pokémon X or Y with your device, the Pokémon  app will then translate the text in the photo to English. Sadly, this feature is not compatible with Pokémon Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire, despite this pair of games being the most recent Pokémon RPGs released.

What do you think about this app? Would you like to see something like this for English speakers who want to speak Japanese, or any other language ?
