For those of you looking to grab the Xbox One wireless adapter but don’t want to upgrade to Windows 10, a recent update changes that. Microsoft has now officially released support for the Xbox One wireless adapter to function on systems with Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Prior to this, the wireless adapter was only usable on systems with Windows 10. Many speculated that this might be to push more people to upgrade their systems to Windows 10. The switch over, after all, is free for those with Windows 7 and 8. As well, there was no technical reason stated for why the wireless adapter was only working for Windows 10.

For those of you interested in buying the dongle, the Xbox One wireless adapter is $25.
