Respawn Entertainment has announced that the Titanfall 2 multiplayer technical test will take place over the next two weekends.

It was announced on the PlayStation Blog that Titanfall 2’s technical test will take place over two weekends: August 19th through 21st, and August 26th through 28th. Both weekends will feature two of the newest Titans (Ion and Scorch), a range of Pilot abilities (including the Grapple, Holo Pilot, and Pulse Blade), as well as a variety of weapons and load-outs.

For the first weekend, two maps and two modes will be available for players to try out. The first mode is Bounty Hunt, a new 5v5 mode that pits two teams against each other as well as the Remnant Fleet. The second mode is the Pilots vs. Pilots mode, a 8v8 mode featuring only pilots. The two maps that will be available during the first weekend are Boomtown and Homestead. Players will be able to play both modes on both maps.

For the second weekend, a new mode and a new map will be added for players to try out. The additional mode is Amped Hardpoint, a twist on the Hardpoint Domination mode from the first Titanfall. Now, players will be able to amp a hardpoint and give their team double score. The map being added to the second weekend is called Forward Base Kodai.

For progression, the first weekend will be capping progression at level 10, while the second weekend will raise the cap to level 15. Players will also have the chance to unlock items, including the Mastiff, a deadly horizontal spread shotgun, and the Alternator, a dual barrel SMG. There will also be a Networks feature, which is designed to make finding and playing with friends quick and easy. The feature will be available in-game as well as on Titanfall.com.

Titanfall 2 will be released on October 28th. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The technical test will only be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
