In late January, the Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter services were updated to accept Pokemon from Red, Blue, and Yellow cartridges. To celebrate, The Pokemon Company is giving players free Mega Stones for Mewtwo.
Players can obtain Mewtwo’s Mega Stones by following these simple steps:
- Select Mystery Gift on the main menu
- Select Receive Gift
- Select Get with Code/Password
- Enter the code M2DESCENT
- Speak with the deliveryman at a Pokemon Center
These Mega Stones, Mewtonite X and Mewtonite Y, Mega Evolve Mewtwo into Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y, respectively. Mewtwo X gains the Fighting type and receives a significant boost to its attack and a small increase in defense. Mewtwo Y, on the other hand, does not gain a new type but instead receives a large special attack bonus and small attack, special defense, and speed boosts at the cost of some defense. Furthermore, upon Mega Evolution, Mewtwo loses its Pressure ability and Unnerve hidden ability. Mewtwo X gains the Steadfast ability while Mewtwo Y receives the Insomnia ability.
Since the Poke Transporter does not transfer held items, the Mewtwo Mega Stones Mystery Gift helps trainers who can’t trade a Mewtwo that holds a Mega Stone from X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire. Stick with Gamespresso for more Pokemon Mystery Gift news.
