Set 25 years after the events of Mortal Kombat (2011) which saw the timeline completely ruined by Raiden reading a bit too far into what he was being told by himself.
This trailer sees a new generation of Mortal Kombatants ready to take on Outworld as Mileena and her clones prepare for a tournament with more blood than we have seen yet. Fans can get a first look at the newest fighters to join Cassie Cage, including Jacqueline Briggs, daughter of Jax, Takashi Takeda, son of Kenshi and Kung Jin, descendant of Kung Lao.
Story might not be the first thing that anyone jumps to when they think of Mortal Kombat, but this new trailer certainly looks like they’re bringing a new level of narrative to the game.
