Zenimax Online Studios announced today that a closed beta for The Elder Scrolls Online will launch tomorrow for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

The beta will run from tomorrow, April 23, to Monday, April 27. Unfortunately, as this is a closed beta, only a select few gamers will be able to jump into the online version of Tamriel. Be sure to check your e-mail inboxes for an invite.

Zenimax revealed that this will be the only beta for the title before it releases on June 9. All beta characters will be wiped before the full release.

The MMO has been the source of much controversy since its launch on PC last year, as players and critics alike were disappointed by the game’s lack of content, disassociation with its source material, and uninspired game design.

Zenimax was forced to make the game free-to-play in order to attract more players and it took a recent patch to add in basic elements from the Elder Scrolls series, such as murder and theft.

Will you be checking out the MMO if you get an invite? Will you be playing the full game later this year? Let us know in the comments below!
