Much like in Rock and Roll and sports, there will now be a place where video games can be immortalized forever. The inaugural World Video Game Hall of Fame class has narrowed down its candidates to just fifteen finalists. These finalists span decades, from the ground breaking game that started it all, Pong, to the recent youtube sensation, Minecraft. These are games that have impacted not just the avid gamers, but people across the world. They have passed the test of time and have built the video game industry into what it is today. The fifteen finalists are:

Pong, Space Invaders, Doom, FIFA Soccer, the Legend of Zelda, the Oregon Trail, Pac-man, Pokemon, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros., Tetris, World of Warcraft, Angry Birds, and Minecraft.

The inductees will be announced during a ceremony at The Strong museum on Thursday, June 4 at 10:30 a.m.
