NetherRealm dropped another brutal, bone-breaking look at the next installment of Mortal Kombat today. Focusing on the Briggs family, the trailer shows off the father-daughter pair of returning character Jackson “Jax” Briggs, a series favorite, and the newcomer Jacqueline Briggs, both part of the OutWorld Investigation Agency Special Forces, the good guys, if you will. Much like the Cage Family trailer released last month, which included the fighters Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and their daughter Cassie Cage, this trailer introduces both characters, shows off some of their signature moves, throws in some cinematic pieces from the story, and finishes off with some pretty entertaining x-rays and fatalities. All the MK goodness you love.
Due to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One April 14th, and last-gen later this year, Mortal Kombat X is set to perhaps be the strongest entry in the series so far. NetherRealm is certainly going all out. Each fighter has multiple fighting styles, the environments are interactive, and so far it looks like a lot of care is going into the story.
