On Monday, May 11th, Koji Igarashi finally shared his comeback title to the world of video games with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. This reveal was in the form of a Kickstarter campaign asking for $500,000 by June 12th. That proved not to be a problem as the game raised $1,000,000 within 24 hours.

When the Kickstarter first started it had four rewards set up should they pass the goal of $500,000. Considering the last goal was $800,000 for voice acting, it’s obvious that they had to add more. They have have most recently passed the $1,750,000 mark for a Speed Run Mode and are just about $50,000 away from the $2,000,000 Boss Rush Mode. Since there is only one more goal after that and a whole 29 days to go, I think they might need to add more.

“I was able to secure funding for about 90 percent of the game with the condition that I prove the market still wants an Igavania game,” Iga told Gamusutra in a Q&A. I believe it is safe to say the market has certainly proved that.
