Amazon has made some mysterious moves in regard to their connection with the video game industry; the most notable one, perhaps, was their purchasing of Twitch.tv last year for nearly a billion dollars. However, new ground has been broken in the form of developing a supposedly “ambitious” PC game.

The details on said game are rather scant at this point in time, but prior reports inform us they have hired Kim Swift, someone responsible for the development of Portal. Not only her, but Clint Hocking, whose pedigree includes Far Cry and Splinter Cell. Not only that, but throwing a substantial amount of money at the CryEngine has also turned heads.

Their job posting for those interested in developing for said game reads as follows:

“We believe that games have just scratched the surface in their power to unite players and will produce some of the future’s most influential voices in media and art.”
