Yu Suzuki makes his appearance on stage of Sony’s E3 conference and humbly presents the long anticipated Shenmue 3. Presenting: The Shenmue 3 Kickstarter. As of writing, the kickstarter has funded 700k+ USD; a fourth of the way to the 2 million goal.
Shenmue is an open world action RPG that follows the story of Ryo, the main protagonist. Shenmue 3 starts a whole new journey as you meet up with familiar characters, to continue your adventures. The Kickstarter promises new fight mechanics to ‘achieve a new level of interactive storytelling’ while still retaining similar elements that made Shenmue the cult classic it was.
Ys Net and more specifically, Yu Suzuki, took to Kickstarting this game and not being funded by Sony so that he can work more closely with fans, to create the game exactly how the fans like it; with the freedom of creating it for the people. If the kickstarter doesn’t meet its goal, Shenmue 3 will not be made; so get on it!
Shenmue 3 is set to be released on the PC and PS4 if it succeeds. It promises to be fantastic especially with a team that has history with the franchise and a rabid fanbase that will help shape the game.
