Amazon is celebrating its 20th birthday in the best way possible – by holding the mother of all sales for its customers.

“Prime Day” is the online retailer’s way of giving back to one of the internet’s largest online shopping customerbase across the globe. The 15th of July will see Amazon launch the aforementioned sale which they have promised to be bigger than Black Friday, and they have labelled it a “global shopping event.”

Prime Day will be, as the name suggests, exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers. The sale will take place across the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, and Austria; not quite global but certainly a heck of a range nonetheless.

Deals are said to hit at midnight on July 15th, and new deals are allegedly going to come in as quickly as on a ten minute interval, so it’s going to be nigh on impossible to keep up with everything but its guaranteed that there’s got to be something for everyone.

Technically, Amazon haven’t released any info on the types of merchandise that will be discounted on Prime Day, but with such a huge market its certain that video games will be on their list under “electronics.” Have a favourite you’ve been waiting to pick up? Maybe hang on for a week and see if you can save yourself some cash.

If you’ve yet to pick up a subscription for Amazon Prime, now might be a good time to activate that free trial or pay the $99 yearly subscription fee – with all the savings you’re bound to make on Prime Day (besides the free unlimited two-day delivery!), it’s bound to pay for itself.
