Ridley Scott recently confirmed his plan to make three sequels to his 2012 film “Prometheus” that will chronologically link up with the events depicted within his 1979 horror classic “Alien.” Speaking to the press during a conference in Australia, Scott noted that the three sequels will answer very basic questions fundamental to the universe imagined in “Prometheus” and “Alien.”

Scott states “very basic questions posed in Alien: why the alien, who might have made it, and where did it come from?” will be answered in the upcoming sequels.

He continues, “I was amazed that in the three [films] that followed that no-one asked the question. Very basic questions. So I came up with the notion of Prometheus, which starts to indicate who might have made it and where it came from. So I’m now going to the next one, which is the next evolution directly connected with the first one. When that’s finished there’ll be another one and then another one which will gradually drive into the back entrance of the film in 1979. So in other words, why was this space jockey there and why did he have an alien inside him? And those questions will be answered.”

Originally, the two “Alien” films “Alien: Covenant” and “Alien 5” were to be created over the next several years spearheaded by “District 9” director Neill Blomkamp. However, Blomkamp revealed the film to be on hold.
