Ever since Sea of Thieves was announced at last years E3, it has been a Rare-shaped, pirate-themed bright light at the end of a tunnel gamers might not have even realized they were in. Unfortunately, the game has been dark for a while now, and it looks like that isn’t changing any time soon.

When asked on Twitter when we might hear more about Sea of Thieves, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer responded saying “On SoT and other later games, nothing before E3,” meaning we will have to wait for June 14th to see more. Currently the game is expected for a tentative 2016 release, but we will have to wait to see if that stays true.

Sea of Thieves is the new Xbox exclusive pirate, shared-world game from long-celebrated developer Rare. Last year, Rare Replay collected 30 of the developer’s games all on one disc. We loved the collection, saying “regardless of whether you have played or owned Rare games in the past, the collection will give you bang for your buck. All of the extra features in the collection is simply icing on top of the cake.”

As we learn more about Sea of Thieves, you’ll find it all right here on Gamespresso.
