Recently, J.J. Abrams has won over the geeks and nerds everywhere.

First directing the reboot to Star Trek, J.J. Abrams stayed with the franchise through Into Darkness – arguably he created one of the worst and best Star Trek films every made – he moved onto Star Wars shortly after.

In a interview with IGN regarding Cloverfield 10, Abrams had this to say regarding an update to the games, “Not yet, but they’re in development, […] We’re working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update.”

Back in 2013, it was teased that Abrams was working on movies based on both Portal and Half-Life. Guard your hearts, gamers, Abrams is on a hunt.

This isn’t the only involvement that Abrams has had in the gaming industry as of late, working on a game Spyjinx with Epic Games. Although the partnership with Valve didn’t seem to work out past the movies, it’ll be interesting to see if Abrams can bring a unique twist to the gaming world.
