The ever present Mario & Sonic at the ‘X’ Olympics makes a return with the duo butting heads at the Rio 2016 Olympics. As announced during the Nintendo Direct, the game will be on both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. As you’d expect, the game will have many returning sports and minigames.

Mario & Sonic have been duking it out in the various Olympic events since the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Since then, the friendly rivalry have included many new events into their lineup of sporting events and have invited more and more of their pals into the festivities. This time, the Rio Olympics will include Ruby Sevens and Rhythmic Gymnastic. I also spotted my dear Rosalina’s debut into the Olympic games.

The collaboration between SEGA sports and Nintendo have brought about this game series for a fairly long time, and they have been considerably enjoyable to play with friends around. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be available on the 3DS on March 18th and Wii U on June 24th. I still don’t see how anyone can outrun Sonic.
