Amusement parks aren’t what they once were. Instead of cotton candy and a few wooden roller coasters, they now surround you in these massive worlds with familiar faces and completely take you away from reality. It’s about time one of these world’s was designed by Nintendo.

Universal Studios has many themes inside its walls including The Simpsons and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It looks like Nintendo will be joining the fun but not until 2020. Kotaku reported that about 40 billion yen, or $351 million, was being invested in the project. 2020 is the goal for everything being completed, due to the Olympics being in Tokyo that year.

This is not the first we’ve heard of Nintendo and Universal Studio’s collaboration. Now it seems to be really moving forward, but only in Universal Japan. Below is a map of how big the new park will be in Universal Japan. Hopefully with enough success, it will come to the west as well.
