To celebrate the upcoming release of Doom, an event was held called ‘Day of Doom’ which pits professional athletes against YouTubers. The game mode was a simple deathmatch within the confines of Doom. The event was hosted by id Software and was shown via the RoosterTeeth YouTube Gaming livestream channel. Many big names made an appearance including athletes Thierry Henry and Rob Gronkowski while the big YouTubers included the likes of seasoned shooters SSSniperWolf and iJustine. The competition pit 4 groups of two together in order to battle it out for victorious supremacy. All in good fun of course!
The 2016 release of Doom will be a reboot from the classic and is being handled by id Software and the team at Bethesda.
Doom will be released across the globe on May 13th, 2016. It will be available for play on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
