The above film was made in 1998 to be shown at Tomb Raider 3’s launch party. The film was never shown, however. Now, thanks to producer Janey de Nordwall, The Trilogy can finally be shown.

In The Trilogy, a video gamer is interrogated by two police detectives about his supposed “girlfriend,” Lara Croft. He is thought to be insane until the film’s twist ending. The short film was meant to be shown at the Natural History Museum in London for the launch of Tomb Raider 3, but for reasons unknown wasn’t. Janey de Nordwall unearthed the film recently, and turned it over to Square Enix, who released the video on YouTube.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise. The first game in the series originally released in October 25th, 1996. A number of games have been released in the franchise since then, with the series being rebooted in 2013. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have more planned as they celebrate Tomb Raider’s 20th anniversary throughout the year.
