Skullgirls 2nd Encore is finally heading to the PlayStation Vita next week.

Originally scheduled to release last summer, Skullgirls 2nd Encore is the definitive version of the title. 2nd Encore will include all five DLC characters, a fully voiced story mode, a full Platinum Trophy set, and all new Challenges, Trials, and a Survival Mode. The title will also support cross-buy, meaning players who purchase the PS Vita version will receive the PlayStation 4 version for free, and vice-versa. Those who already own the PlayStation 4 version will be able to download the PS Vita version for free when it releases next week.

Skullgirls 2nd Encore will also be supported through PSTV, meaning a second player can pick up a DualShock 3 or 4 controller and jump in on the action. Also, a PS4 theme and avatars will go on sale “soon.”

Skullgirls 2nd Encore will receive not just one, but nine patches across various regions and versions of the game after the PS Vita release. These patches bring multiplayer lobbies to the game, and will allow for a new feature called All Play, in which eight players enter a lobby simultaneously. The matches will still be 1-vs-1, and all eight players pair up to fight simultaneously. New matches are then drawn from the same pool of eight players as soon as a match is completed, leading to faster matchmaking. The patches will be released together “so as not to fragment the online community.”

Skullgirls 2nd Encore will release on the PS Vita on April 5th. The new themes, avatars, and patches will release sometime after.
