In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, production armorer for the Assassin’s Creed movie, Tim Wildgoose has mentioned that “There’s basically a few assassins taken straight from the games, who we get to see in the films”. The reveal was mentioned due to Wildgoose’s work for the movie, where he needed to work with blueprints for weapons to be actually used in the movie instead of still props hidden as easter eggs around the movie.

“Although we’re designing the weapons ourselves” explains Wildgoose, “there are certain things you have to stick to — the way the wrist blades work. In that sense, we were going the Ubisoft reference as a design guide. At the same time, there are assassins from the games in the film as well. In some case, we could directly copy the Ubisoft weapons onto their characters”.

It was stressed earlier that the movie would be a standalone story that would not be using central protagonists such as Altair and Ezio. This fact remains as Wildgoose confirms that “They’re not main characters from the games, but they’re very famous characters that the fans will probably enjoy”. Implying that the only characters/assassins that will show up are side characters.

The Assassin’s Creed movie slated for release on December 21st, 2016 across the globe.
