When it comes to developers, Rockstar are almost like the bad boys of the gaming industry. They put out games like Grand Theft Auto, Midnight Run, and Bully, all with a bit of controversy. At the end of the day, these games have great gameplay and cinematic elements, keeping fans coming back for more. So what is next for the long standing developer? We may not have to wait long to find out.

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, just had its 2017 first fiscal quarter report. According to this report, the company grew by 13 percent. This is largely in part to the success of Grand Theft Auto 5, Grand Theft Auto Online, NBA 2K16, and Battleborn. The most intriguing part of this report however is a line at the end, which states “Rockstar Games is also hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon.”

Whether these are a new Grand Theft Auto, the long awaited Red Dead Redemption 2, some other surprise, or all of the above is not yet clear. Gamescom is only a few weeks away. Seems like as good a place as any for Rockstar to announce what’s in store for the future. We’ll just have to wait until they are good and ready to tell fans what they want to hear.
