Indie game developer Matt Thorson has revealed that TowerFall Ascension, a local-multiplayer archery arena game, will be released on Xbox One.

Thorson broke the news on his Twitter account while also revealing that Dark World, the game’s expansion, will also be coming to the Xbox One version.

A release date for the Xbox One port has yet to be determined. “No release date yet, but I’m playing it and it’s awesome,” said Thorson.

Thorson recently released TowerFall 8-player, a mod of Ascension that allows for a maximum of eight players rather than four. The mod only features Ascension’s versus mode and is priced at $8.88. TowerFall originally launched exclusively for Ouya in 2013. It was later ported to PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, Linux and Vita in 2014 under the title TowerFall Ascension.

“TowerFall Ascension is the definitive version of the hit archery combat game. Inspired by classics from the golden age of couch multiplayer, it’s a 4-player local party game centering around hilarious, intense versus matches. The core mechanics are simple and accessible, but hard to master and combat is fierce,” the game’s Steam description reads.

In June, Thorson revealed his next project, Celeste, a 2D side-scrolling platformer.

Ascension is currently available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Mac, Linux and Vita.
