To celebrate the end of the year, Bethesda and Zenimax Online have introduced the New Life Festival for Elder Scrolls Online. The special event starts now, and offers players the chance of daily quests that will see you travel around the different zones of Tamriel and interact with the many different races that populate it.

Up to nine different quests can be completed. To begin your tasks, first you must travel to Windhelm and find Breda. She will give you your starting mission simply entitled “The New Life Festival.” Once you complete her challenges, you will gain access to the daily quests. As an added bonus, if you drink some of her Magnificent Mead, located in a nearby keg, then you can earn double XP for two hours. Each quest is themed to a particular race and takes place in their respective zones.

As listed on the Elder Scrolls Online website, the daily tasks will include:

  • Castle Charm Challenge (Breton)
  • Fish Boon Feast (Argonian)
  • Lava Foot Stomp (Dunmer)
  • Mud Ball Merriment (Bosmer)
  • Signal Fire Sprint (Redguard)
  • Snow Bear Plunge (Nord)
  • Stonetooth Bash (Orc)
  • The Trial of Five-Clawed Guile (Khajiit)
  • War Orphan’s Sojourn (Altmer)

Successfully completing a quest will reward you with a New Life Gift Box, which contain special awards. They always contain a random crafting material, a consumable version of a New Life-themed Memento and a Skinchanger style item. You also receive one of either a Skinchanger Motif chapter, a New Life recipe of either green, blue or gold-quality, or a special New Life Collectible, ranging from hats to costumes or momentos.

If you are successful in completing all the New Life Festival challenges, then you will be awarded the special title “Magnanimous.” This event is also running in tandem with the Crown Store Showcase, featuring exclusive festive items to purchase for your character.

It seems that the end of year New Life Festival will have plenty to keep players of The Elder Scrolls Online occupied over the Christmas period and well into the New Year.
