The mobile game Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf is being ported to the PC via Steam Early Access in 2017.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf is a free-to-play tactical turn-based collectible card game game originally released for iOS and Android devices. Unlike other games that share the Warhammer 40k license, Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf simulates the tactical turn-based gameplay of the source material; the collectible cards determine how far your units can move, how they attack, and what abilities they can use.

Herocraft has promised numerous improvements for the Steam version of the game. These improvements include:

  • Enhanced graphics and textures
  • Dynamic lighting
  • Improved weapon effects
  • Weather effects
  • Overhauled gameplay
  • Redesigned GUI and controls

Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf is not the first mobile game to be ported to Steam. Games that were originally made for iOS and Android devices such as Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf and Hitman GO have made the jump from mobile device to PC with varying degrees of success.

For the uninitiated, Warhammer 40,000 (sometimes called Warhammer 40k) is a tactical turn-based tabletop game where players paint and customize plastic miniatures to create various armies. It has served as inspiration for everything from action games like Space Marine, to the RTS series Dawn of War.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf will be available on Steam Early Access Febuary 2017.
