Next Wednesday, March 8th, Bungie will reveal the final live event in Destiny, aptly named “Age of Triumph”, set to release later this month. Bungie says that they hope it will be “a fun and memorable celebration that will bring the first major chapter of our Destiny adventures to a fitting close.”

In an official blog post, the dev team sets out to answer some important questions about the sequel. Destiny 2 will not be connected to 1 in terms of progression. Items, power, and currency will not carry between the games, and Destiny 2 will be a true sequel and different game. You will, however, be given the option to keep character personalization from the first game, letting you keep your glamorous 80’s hair, among other less important character customization choices. This applies to all characters that have reached level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission.

Veteran players have something to look forward to, also, as Bungie plans to properly show off your achievements in the next game, should you connect your accounts. There are currently no details on this, but it will probably be something good.

Bungie will hold an “Age of Triumph” livestream on March 8th on their Twitch.tv account, so those interested should attend. The patch is set to drop March 22nd, and will lead players from Destiny to the sequel.
