With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, it was only a matter of time before a graphics comparison video was released showcasing the differences in graphics between current generation and previous generation hardware.

Youtube channel Candyland posted a new video that showcased the differences between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

It can be expected that there would be less detail in lighting and shadow effects because of the constraints with previous generation hardware, but what is surprising is that there are major differences with the details in the maps. All of the set pieces are there for player movement and coverage, but the Xbox 360 version looks more barren and simplistic with effects like an impending sandstorm completely removed and other atmospheric details scaled down.

Two different developers worked on Black Ops 3, Treyarch, the main studio, handled the current-gen versions of the game while Beenox and Mercenary Technologies handled the last-gen versions which came in at 30fps. Also, because of hardware limitations, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are missing the Co-op Campaign and they only offer the multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was released today on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
