With all the bubbling excitement for the upcoming Warcraft movie, Legendary has gone ahead and posted a video of the title theme for the movie. Titled simply ‘Warcraft’, the track and perhaps the entire score will be composed by Ramin Djawadi. Djawadi may be recognized from his work on various other movies in the past including Iron Man, Game of Thrones and Pacific Rim.

‘Warcraft’ uses heavy drums and bellowing horns to emphasis the ‘war’ in its name. The way the track almost seems to dance as the violin strings dance in and out of the foreground and background of the track with the horns feels like it’s painting an image of a serious fight between humans and a brutish orc. As both combatants dance around and fight each other, the track starts kick up the volume and the intensity ramps up until the final notes drops the tempo and the battle ends with only one standing.

The track is very reminiscent of Warcraft 1 and 2’s soundtrack and it shows Djawadi’s respect for the source material. While the trailers themselves haven’t sold me on the movie, if I can expect this kind of soundtrack, I’m much more excited to immerse myself in the world again. The soundtrack is to be available for purchase as of June 3rd

Warcraft the movie is presented by Legendary Pictures in collaboration with Blizzard. It will be released in cinemas on June 10th, 2016.
