Rollercoaster Tycoon World has been confirmed to get some modifications to the graphics due to fan complaints after the gameplay trailer was announced. The style of graphics used in the game that’s soon to join the Rollercoaster Tycoon series was very similar to the previous game Rollercoaster Tycoon 3; so similar infact there seemed to be little graphical improvement despite RCT3 being over 10 years old. Graphics are certainly not everything however you would expect them to improve over time.

The game is still in “pre-alpha” the developers announced in a blog post so there are due to be major changes to the graphics and features also. It has also been announced that the engine has now been moved to Unity 5 and are looking to show off the new changes by this summer. Previous to this change they were looking to create the best possible game on the 4.6 Unity Engine.

Also in response to fans the developers have said there will be changes to ensure realism and not just provide a HD game; they want the rides to feel as though “they may be found in real life” and change the theme to ensure the rides are what you would stereotypically see in today’s amusement parks.

While it is expected the new changes will be revealed this summer there is no idea of a release date yet and rightly so as the developers understand that the series is well loved by fans.

“RollerCoaster Tycoon has meant so much to so many people over the years, and it’s entirely your prerogative to feel protective of the franchise”

This is what developers should do. Make the changes the fans are looking for and Area 52 is doing just that; they explain themselves and look to make the fans of a series happy. It’s been more than 10 years since the last Rollercoaster Tycoon game came out and the developers what to see it done right, they will not release the game until it is “truely ready”. This is something many developers today should take note of.
