After years in prototype, the Oculus Rift is officially going to be released to consumers during Quarter 1 of 2016. The Oculus Rift started as a Kickstarter campaign for a new virtual reality tool and now is ready for release, years later. Throughout that time many different prototypes were given to developers, gamers, and engineers to ensure the most comfortable and realistic virtual reality experience to date.

The newest version of the Oculus Rift will feature a more accurate tracking system that supports both seated and standing experiences. It will also feature updated ergonomics for a more natural feel. More information will be released in the coming months and you will be able to start pre-ordering the device later this year.
