Konami has announced that the online portion of Metal Gear Solid 5 entitled Metal Gear Online is officially out of beta and is available to play for all who own The Phantom Pain on PC.

“We took in a lot of feedback and made a few key adjustments,” the developer said in a post on the game’s Steam page, “After some initial hiccups we’re going forward guns at the ready. However that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped development, quite the contrary. Just like the previously released console versions of MGO, we’ll be integrating new updates to the game to improve the experience and add content.”

Gamers who log into Metal Gear Online and play at least one match between January 19th and January 26th will receive 3,000 Gear Points (GP) which can be used to customize characters.

Konami also said that this upcoming year is “shaping up to be an exciting year for MGO” as the developer has plans to support the online game with upcoming DLC and continued update support. No word yet on what will be contained in the DLC.

Metal Gear Online launched today, January 19th, on PC.
