Treyarch has announced that the modding and mapping tools for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are now in open beta.

Back in April, Black Ops 3’s modding and mapping tools for PC went into a Closed Alpha state. Now, the tools are moving into Open Beta.

“Opening access to modding and mapping tools to a wider audience will allow us to more effectively address bugs, add polish, and move closer to a complete suite of PC features,” Treyarch stated. “While these tools are most certainly for the community, they wouldn’t be possible without the community itself, which is why we’re grateful for you patience and participation.

“In the coming months, we plan to continue to work on enhancing the user experience and the ability to create modded content… Thank you, and enjoy the PC Open Beta!”

The dates for the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare have been revealed. The beta will take place over two weekends, with the first weekend being available only to PlayStation 4 owners, while the second weekend will be for both the PS4 and Xbox One. Weekend one will start on October 14th at 10 a.m. PDT and will end on October 17th at 10 a.m. PDT. Weekend two will start on October 21st at 10 a.m. PDT and will end on October 24th at 10 a.m. PDT. Players must pre-order Infinite Warfare to get into the multiplayer beta. There are no plans for a PC beta at the moment.
