Black Tusk Studios; the Vancouver based developing team tasked to create the next Gears of Wars game has hired Greg M. Mitchellto assist in development. Greg M. Mitchel left his post as Cinematic Director at Epic Games in order to pursue this as announced via his twitter.

Greg will be reuniting with another coworker who had worked on the previous Gears of Wars; Rod Fergusson who is the studio manager for Black Tusk.

The news comes just before E3 and with hopes that there will be some trailers or teasers to show off this new game; and to see if it’s a welcome addition to the franchise.

With older members of the original game overseeing production, I honestly think the game will still have potential. Under a new studio as well, it could only mean new ideas, perhaps some fresher content.
