Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard’s MOBA, pulling in characters from the developer’s Starcraft, Diablo, and Warcraft tent poles, finally has a release date. After launching a closed beta back at the beginning of the year, Blizzard took to the game’s website, with a cheeky announcement trailer, to declare Heroes of the Storm will be hitting store shelves June 2th.

Prior to launch however, there will be a launch event in London on June 1st, and an open beta is set to begin May 19th. When it does release, the game will include “more than 30 playable Heroes, over 130 Skins, 14 steadfast mounts, and 7 dynamic Battlegrounds, each with unique challenges to overcome,” with even more heroes, skins, mounts, and battlegrounds on the way.

With this announcement also came the promise that, for those already playing the closed beta, there will be no more progress wipes. All progress from here on out will carry over to the full game. You can check out our impressions of the closed beta here.
