Mortal Kombat X Mobile has officially been released today on all iOS devices. It has also been said by Warner Bros and NetherRealm that it will also be coming to Android devices in the future.

Mortal Combat X Mobile is a free to play version of the iconic fighting game series; the level of violence in the game is just as high as the console game.

This mobile adaption is a mix of the standard over-the-top fighting and a card game. Players must collect the cards of their favourite players in order obtain more characters to play with however there are more than 24 characters in the initial roster which includes plenty of iconic characters such as Scorpion and Sub-Zero. There are also more gear and fatalities to be unlocked.

As Mortal Combat X Mobile is a free to play game, the way to unlock new additions to the game will be through gameplay or by spending real-world money which is unsurprising. The game links to the console and PC editions due to come out week and plays will be able to unlock special characters in both versions by playing one or the other through complement of quests and achievements.

Not only single player, Mortal Kombat X Mobile has an online competitive mode called “Faction Wars” where players fight in teams against other teams. Ranking systems are also active with the online competitive mode. There is also an “Allies” feature that allows players to borrow a character from a friend to do battle.

Mobile games are not typically well known for their amazing graphics yet the game requires a minimum of 1.5GB of free space on the device and some devices with less than 1GB RAM will be unable to run it due to performance not being optimized. Devices such as the iPod touch and iPhone 4S will not be able to run the game.

Mortal Kombat X Mobile is available for download on itunes now. Mortal Kombat X will be released for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC on April 14th. However the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 editions were delayed and are on course for a release sometime in the summer.
