Child of Light may not be a game many mainstream gamers played, but it left a lasting impression on those that did. Released almost a year ago to wide critical praise, the game featured JRPG style, turn-based combat, a story written in iambic pentameter, and an unbelievably gorgeous art style. Created in the UbiArt Framework, the same engine used to create Valiant Hearts, Rayman Origins, and Rayman Legends, Child of Light blended sidescroller platforming and party based combat.

Taking to twitter today, one of the lead designers on Child of Light, Patrick Plourde, stated, “Fans of Child of Light: There are very cool projects in process set in the Child of Light universe. More News soon. Stay tuned!”

Back in November, speaking with Gamesindustry.biz, Plourde said Child of Light was indeed “profitable enough that we would have been able to fund a sequel.”

Could these new projects be the sequel Plourde was referring to? Keep checking back here on Gamespresso as Ubisoft hopefully reveals more in the near future.
