Earlier today, Konami made a strange announcement on their Facebook page, showing a single image of a title they are calling Metal Gear Solid: The 1984 Collection. With this image was a statement saying “Step back into the 80′s with our new MGS collection coming very soon! Stay tuned!”

There are many possibilities as to what this announcement could mean, but they are only speculation as of now. Last year, Konami shared another Metal Gear Solid Collection at the Tokyo Game Show. This collection, however, turned out to be a clothing line made by the company Musterbrand. Could they be planning another clothing line that brings back some of the style of the 80’s?

It is also important to note that the latest game in the series, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, is set in the year 1984. With that, there could be a connection between the two. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is to be released on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC this Septemeber.

What do think this announcement means? Is it another clothing line? Is it a new game in the series to look forward to? Let us know in the comments below.
